Profile

Flower Manase is the curator at the National Museum of Tanzania. Ms. Manase has a Bachelor degree in History and Archaeology and Msc. in Natural Resources Assessment and Management both from the University of Dar es Salaam. Ms. Manase has worked with the National Museum and House of Culture station since 2009 as the curator of history. She’s the head of collections management department at the Museum and House of Culture since 2017. Ms. Manase has curated national and international exhibitions. She was an academic curator of the exhibition project funded by EU/UNESCO titled “Road to independence; the African Liberation Heritage” that opened in October 2017, at the museum and House of Culture in Dar es Salaam. Ms. Manase is currently working on provenance research projects of colonial collections in German and Tanzania, including the project titled “ The collaborative provenance research on collection from Tanzania at the National Museum and House of Culture in Dar es Salaam and the Ethnological Museum in Berlin”.The project is funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation and involves four institutions (the National Museum of Tanzania, the Ethnological Museum in Berlin (SPK),University of Dar es Salaam and the Humboldt University).
