Public Panel Discussion 2019

On the 9th and 10th of March 2020 the workshop "Provenance Research and Contested Heritage of Colonial Contexts" was held in Nkongsamba at the Institut des Beaux-Arts (IBA) of the University of Douala. The event was organised by Rachel Mariembe (lecturer of museology at the IBA) and the two PAESE staff members Isabella Bozsa of the Städtische Museum Braunschweig and Bianca Baumann of the Landesmuseum Hannover....

Am 28. Januar 1900 eröffnete im Roemer-Museum eine Ausstellung mit ethnografischen Objekten aus der Sammlung eines gewissen Hermann Großkopf. Als Schiffsingenieur auf dem Reichspostdampfer „Stettin“ des Norddeutschen Lloyd hatte Großkopf den Stillen Ozean von Singapur bis Neuguinea befahren und dabei kistenweise Ethnographica als Souvenirs gesammelt...

The Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum (RPM) Hildesheim presents the new virtual exhibition “Heavyweight Fashion – Traditional Clothing and Adornment of the Herero Women”, which went online on 13 April 2022. Sabine Lang, provenance researcher at the RPM, wrote the script. Jenny Hoyer, student of Visual Communication at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, made the script into a documentary-style virtual exhibition.
