| Description | Carl Niemann war ab ca. 1878 als Handelsagent der Nieuwen Afrikaanschen Handels-Vennootschap in Luanda. Die Herkunft des Objektes wird im Inventarbuch mit "Nieder Guinea" angegeben, was historisch den Raum von Gabun im Norden bis etwa Benguela im Süden bedeutet. Eine Herkunft aus dem interregionalen Karawanenhandel West-Zentralafrikas ist wahrscheinlich. Die Maske stellt wahrscheinlich einen Europäer dar. |
