Aus dem Angebot Rüggebergs vom 24. Juli 1988 ergibt sich, dass Rüggeberg nicht der Sammler des Stückes ist, sondern sein 1981 verstorbener Onkel, Prof. Dr. Günther Spannaus, der das Objekt von seiner Expedition im ehemaligen Rhodesien (heutiges Simbabwe) 1931 mitbrachte.
