The PAESE joint database brings together object collections that have been in the focus of research of the institutions involved in the project (Lower Saxon State Museum Hanover, Ethnographic Collection of the Georg-August-University Göttingen, State Museum Nature and Man Oldenburg, Roemer- and Pelizaeus-Museum Hildesheim, Municipal Museum Brunswick, Ev.-luth. Missionswerk in Lower Saxony Hermannsburg).

The focus is on the documentation of the origin (provenance) of the objects. The information provided represents the current or latest state of research and is continuously supplemented.

The partners of the joint project strive for the greatest possible transparency. In justified exceptional cases, we refrain from publicly displaying images for moral-ethical or legal reasons. This is done in coordination with our colleagues and partners from the so-called countries of origin.
