Isabella Bozsa

Isabella Bozsa, M.A., studied Cultural Anthropology/European Ethnology, Tibetology, Gender Studies and Religious Studies at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the University of Basel. Her master's thesis was a historical-archival research on the career of the first chair of "Deutsche Volkskunde" in Göttingen during the Nazi era. From 2013 to 2015 she was a trainee in the Department of South-Central and East Asia at the Museum der Kulturen Basel (MKB). She participated in the curatorial work of the exhibition "StrohGold - Cultural Transformations Made Visible". From June 2015 to July 2019, she was interim curator of the MKB's Africa Department and responsible for the Africa Collection with over 30’000 objects from different parts of the continent with a regional focus on West Africa. At the same time, she conducted research on the history and origin of the Basel Mission Collection from Cameroon and India as part of a fellowship at MKB. Since mid-October 2019 she has been involved in the PAESE joint project.
